September was a crazy month for me. Heading back to university, actually getting paid a decent wage so I could buy some new things and Race For Life as well as many other things. I can’t believe how quick September and my summer went! So I decided I’d share with you what some of my favourite things from this month.
My first pick has to be This Estée Lauder lipstick set. I bought this from an outlet store for £21 and in it you get a little bag, a lip liner, a lipstick and a lipgloss! The lip colour is called 23 ‘Fig‘ which I think is perfect for the autumn/winter months as it has hints of purple and red in it.
My next makeup pick was the L’oreal Volume Million Lashes. This mascara is amazing and makes your eyelashes look so long and separated. I recieved this as a birthday present from my grandparents in June and have used it ever since. I think a nice natural eye look is great when you’re wearing such a bold lipstick like the one above.
At the moment, especially as it’s getting colder I love the look of plaid/tarten. Obviously I wouldn’t wear these two items together but I think the first one looks so nice with black jeans and heeled boots and the bottom (a skirt) looks lovely with a small winter jacket and leggings.
Sorry for the creases haha. In September I did the Race For Life pretty muddy challenge and bought these two items off of their website because 1) they’re adorable and 2) they have a sale which was amazing! The top is a grey jumper and is so soft it is lovely to wear in the evening and the bottom is an oversized varsity top that I love because it is incredibly floaty.
Due to it being autumn now I had to pick up a slightly autumnal candle. I went into Yankee Candle and found this one called Serengeti Sunset and I think it’s quite autumnal due to its orange colour and its scent that smells quite like oranges. I love candles and always have this on in the evening.
I thought I’d talk about something a bit different as well in my favourites so these are my music favourites starting with single of the month. I love Ellie Goulding’s new song On My Mind as it is incredibly catchy and reminds me of a couple of uni friends which is always nice to be reminded of.
The album I’ve been loving recently has been Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint. It is incredibly catchy and fun as well as having a nice beat and clever lyrics at times. What I’m saying is if you want to feel like a bad ass boss (oops language) then listen to this album. I’m currently loving Get On Your Knees and Feeling Myself.
My favourite YouTube video or series this month has to be the Achievement Hunters playing Until Dawn. Not only are they one of my favourite YouTube groups they are incredibly funny and witty with their commentary and gameplay and the actual game they are playing is incredibly interesting and addictive. I just hope they try having a go at getting the different endings!
My movie of the month has to be Legend with Tom Hardy. I wrote a longer blog post about it here but honestly, who wouldn’t want two Tom Hardys playing London gangsters on their screen? Definitely a must see even if you’re not that into biopics. The cast and story may surprise you.
My last favourite has to be Hunted on Channel Four because of how cleverly made and real this reality show is. It depicts normal people going on the run and having to try and evade capture for 28 days. It’s definitely a must see and weirdly gets you rooting for the bad guy, the hunted, over the good. Always an odd concept.
These were my September favourites. I hope you enjoyed them and make sure to let me know what yours were.
Until next time.
