Lent

Last year I gave lent a go and gave up takeaways. I completed this and, in doing it, dropped a dress size just by not eating chips and pizza! I was amazed.
So obviously this year I thought I had to do it again. Recently, I’ve been trying to eat more healthily, but I’ve been dwindling with this. I want to give up three things for lent which may seem like a lot but it’s part of my new years resolutions too!
I want to give up:
- Chocolate.
- Fizzy drinks.
- Takeaways.
The rules I want to set down is…I can have Eat Natural chocolate stuff etc. but no actual chocolate bars.
I want to drink only water but I can have squash as long as I don’t become obsessed with it.
I’m allowed to eat out in restaurants but no more than once a week. This includes Wetherspoons trips with the course!
I know this’ll probably be quite hard but I’m determined.
What are you giving up for lent?
Until next time.
I usually don’t bother giving up anything for Lent, not gonna lie. This year, though, I’m going to aim for chocolate. I would like to go for all sweet things, but fasting from foods makes me reeeeally cantankerous when I’m stressed or bored, and I already have to fast from meat so cutting out two things would be too much for me at this stage. That being said, chocolate is the majority of all sweet things that I eat, so there’s every chance that I won’t have any lollies at all.
Good luck with your Lenten goals, I think it’s very brave of you to aim for three! Hopefully you can post updates every now and then; I think it’d be a good motivator to see how others are doing! π

Great plan and good luck! I don’t have an organised list yet but something around being more mindful and definitely increasing the healthy eating.

Hey Shona I can’t give up going to gigs as that would be too difficult.
I can’t give up drinking as that was done before you were born.
I can’t give up smoking since I’ve never started it
I can’t give up exercise since I need to do more of it.
I can’t give up politics as there is a Scottish Election coming up in May.
So that leaves me with the gorgeous Blue Chair Brownies.
and if you ever come to Glasgow and to this fantastic cafe (Wednesday Nights are particularly good It’s the Cabaret you know,) you will realise what a sacrifice I am making.
Best Wishes

I gave up chocolate two years ago for Lent. I can’t believe I managed to do it but I demolished my Easter eggs when I had them! x

I was going to give up chocolate and alcohol, but it’s valentine’s weekend coming up and I’m going home to celebrate my dad and grandad’s birthdays the following weekend and I’m sure a glass of wine or two and a sneaky little celebration with be in each hand. I’m not giving anything up but just sticking to my healthy lifestyle and going to the gym regularly.
