Sleepaway Camp Review
Major spoilers ahead
Sleepaway Camp is one of those movies that everyone should watch but not many have. Although it is a conventional horror movie the twist at the end really adds a different element of fear to the whole thing.
Sleepaway follows the story of Angela. A quiet and young girl who saw her family killed in a freak boat accident when she was young. She goes to Sleepaway Camp with her cousin but finds it hard making friends. Soon, the meaner children start to be picked off one by one by a mysterious killer. In the end it turns out to be Angela, dun dun dun, committing the murders, but it doesn’t just end there. It turns out Angela is actually her supposed dead brother and the aunt that took her in, because she already had a son and wanted a daughter, created Angela. It is revealed in the end that she is in fact a boy and it really adds a whole new twist onto why she went around killing people.
The story is simple but quite interesting. You never actually see the murderer so even though it’s pretty obvious it’s Angela it’s never certain. The final end screen has given me nightmares ever since I watched it so, yes you may feel like giving up on the movie halfway through, but don’t. The end makes it all worth while.
Have you seen Sleepaway Camp? What did you think?
Until next time.
