In 2003 Black Eyed Peas released a song called Where is the Love? It was a big hit talking about serious issues at the time and it seems those issues have just escalated. Recently, they re-released the song with some new additions along with new lyrics and singers. Think of it as a new Bandaid, celebrities have come together to try and change the world and bring a bit more love into it.

The song is fronted by the Black Eyed Peas members and then includes the likes of Dj Khaled, Jessie J, Justin Timberlake and Nicole Scherzinger to name a few. Images of the world today are also shown including the poor children of Syria and the #blacklivesmatter movement. The song is clearly about the issues we face today and how we should love each other a bit more in hopes it’ll help the world. Some say it doesn’t really do anything. Just another thing for the a-list celebrities to put their names on, but, I think it does help. It gets people seeing the problems in this world and hopefully that’ll give them a kick to do something about it. These things don’t have to be big, they could be helping a neighbour or giving some money to a charity. Whatever we can do to make the world a little less dismal is good in my books.

I think, with the power of music too, people will click on this video out of curiosity and hopefully it’ll open their eyes up to the things they may have been blocking out. Yes, it’s hard to handle sometimes and can make everything look a bit bleak but then, why don’t you be the good in the world? When getting lunch get an extra bottle of water for a homeless person, if someone doesn’t have enough money let them borrow that spare change, ask if that person needs help taking their shopping to their car. It’s little things that will brighten up people’s days and become big things later on.

As I’ve heard before, you make your day, whether you make it good or bad it’s up to you. So what’s the point in making it bad? If you can do something good, really, what’s stopping you?

Make someone’s day today, even with just a smile, as it can go a long way.
