Orphan Black Review
Orphan Black is a show that I started to watch recently and quickly got through all 4 seasons. As I know it, there will be one more season and in some ways, sadly it will be the last. Orphan Black is a show that I would recommend to anyone but especially to people who love sci-fi weirdness in their everyday lives.
Orphan Black follows Sarah Manning who finds out that she is a clone and there are many other women who look just like her. She befriends these women and they try to unravel their origins and why they were created in a test tube all those years ago. The story involves many different twists and turns including male clones, monitors and lots and lots of death. There is even an amish style cult thrown into the mix so you can tell it’s crazy.
I love this show. Each clone has their own interesting subplot and story from Sarah Manning’s fantastic English accent (that her brother has too even though both the actors aren’t English) to Rachel, thought to be an ‘original’ due to her closeness to the creators. What makes it even better is the fact that Tatiana Maslany played every single clone. She puts on so many different accents and character styles it is remarkable to watch and the filming and editing of the show is seamless. I find it so hard to watch when the clones are all together because I just can’t work out how they piece it all together. It blows my mind! Each character in this show is so strong, even though it has kind of gone off track by the end of season 4, it is still so compelling to watch. There is no character that doesn’t add something to the storyline.
If you haven’t watched Orphan Black yet why not? This show will hook you instantly from the first three minutes and will have you on the edge of your seat binge-watching episodes just to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to see how they wrap it all up in the final season as it still has a lot of plot points that need answering. All I know is that I am not going to stop watching the show until I have all the answers!
What do you think of Orphan Black?
Until next time.
