The Holiday Review

It’s Blogmas! And if you don’t know what that means, basically, for December I am going to be writing a review everyday up until Christmas Eve. As it’s the Christmas month each of these reviews will be Christmas themed! But to mix it up I’m doing a week of romance movies, a week of horror (I know right?! There’s horror Christmas movies!) and a week of family movies. This week is Romance so I’m starting strong with one of my favourite Christmas films: The Holiday.

The Holiday is one of those perfect Christmas films that makes you fall in love with love all over again. It has everything you could ever need including snow, Jude Law and a lot of heartwarming happiness.

The Holiday follows the story of two women who are struggling with men. They decide to join a house swap website and end up swapping houses with each other. One woman, Iris, lives in London, while the other woman, Amanda lives in LA so this is a big change for both of them. When they get to their new homes for the movie they meet two very lovable men who in the end, of course, they fall in love with. Iris also meets her neighbour, a ninety year old man who helps her with her self esteem and worth, because the movie isn’t just lovely enough is it?

Of course within the movie there are ups and downs, especially with the fact that they live so far away from each other in reality, but of course love prevails over all and they end up happy ever after.

This movie is a beautiful one with a lot of touching moments. It’s a classic romance film but because it has the Christmassy feel to it, it just feels so much more special. Having an all star cast including Jude Law, Jack Black, Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz you can tell it’s going to be a great movie. It’s definitely the perfect movie to snuggle up with a loved one, some hot chocolate and a blanket and have the perfect night in.

Look out for more romantic Christmas movies this week!

What do you think of The Holiday?

Until next time.
