The Muppets Christmas Carol is one of those movies where you just think…what?! It encapsulates the old good Christmas Carol story including characters that more recent generations will know and love. Much like marrying the past and the present if you will.

The story basically follows the old story of the Christmas Carol. Scrooge is a man who hates Christmas. One evening however he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future and he changes his ways when he realises what he is doing is not good or helpful to anyone around him. Through in some Muppet chaos and you’ve got The Muppets Christmas Carol.

This movie is a lot of fun with the same heartwarming meaning behind it all. Christmas is a time for sharing and being with loved ones and that is what Scrooge learns. Scrooge being played by Michael Caine as well is a great choice as he is a wonderful actor and really fits in well to this movie.

This is one for all the family to enjoy as it is random, clever and of course very funny. If you do enjoy this movie though don’t let the fans of the old one tell you it’s a bastardisation of the original as they clearly have too much Scrooge in themselves. Instead, grab a mince pie, cuddle up by the fire and get ready to laugh until you cry.
