Favourite Horror Movie
This is a movie I have spoken about many times before but one that I am still in love with. From my first viewing to my last it keeps me on my toes, and I swear, I’ve only watched barely a quarter of this movie because I’ve been hiding my eyes for the rest of the time.
Dead Silence is a movie about dolls. Creepy, creepy dolls and their owner/mother: Mary Shaw. Mary Shaw loved her dolls and it is believed her spirit now lives within these dolls after she was brutally murdered by the townsfolk for the disappearance of a young boy who heckled her show.
A young man called Jamie finds the doll pictured above on his doorstep one day and within a few hours/days his wife ends up murdered. He wants to find out more about the doll as it seems his wife knew about Mary Shaw and the lore behind her name. He returns home where he finds out a lot more than he bargained for and it turns out he cannot even trust his own close family.
Dead Silence is a terrifying movie with lots of twists and turns and a very interesting ending. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and be hiding behind your fingers as characters start to die around you in the most bizarre ways.
If you don’t like dolls, watch this movie! It is terrifying and really, really interesting. If you like dolls, watch this movie! Then I’m sure you won’t be able to walk past a vintage shop or children’s toy store without wanting to cower away in fear.
This is why it’s my favourite horror, even as I write this, I cannot look at that terrifying face above.
