Super Bowl Trailers

Nope, sorry to disappoint, I’m not talking about the Super Bowl, but instead, the trailers that were shown during it. These trailers were for upcoming releases in both TV and film so of course, I had to review them.

Ghost in the Shell

Ghost in the Shell started out as a Manga in Japan. It has now been created for the big screen starring Scarlett Johansson, there was much controversy over this choice in actress as it was seen as whitewashing by a large number of people. Focusing more on the trailer however it doesn’t give much away apart from this movie will be weird. It’ll be out there and even shows Scarlett ‘naked’. Definitely one that I’m sure will be plastered all over reviewer’s websites for a while when it’s released.

Transformers: The Last Knight

Now, this is the extended trailer. It looks interesting, basically like all other Transformers movie expect there’s good old Mark Wahlberg again. I do miss the days of Shia LaBeouf, those were simpler times…Anyway, I think this series is bloated and is all about making money and fanfare, so I’m good if I miss this one.

The Handmaid’s Tale

This looks incredibly gritty and something that will be quite heavy to watch. I may have to keep my eyes on this one because it does look good and is something different to join our TV screens. It’s also a retelling of a novel so I think that may need to be read just in time for this release.

Life

Oh hi Alien! Well, this could either be great or be terrible. It seems space travel is a big theme in cinema these days so let’s see if audiences aren’t bored of it before this film is released. It looks like it could be good, but that’s the issue with trailers, you can never be truly sure.

Dead Men Tell no Tales

Ok, I’ll be honest, before watching the trailer I thought the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was a bit overdone and has had its time. But watching this trailer, holy moly am I excited for this film! It actually looks really well done and thought out. Of course, we don’t know the full story yet so let’s wait and see, but in my opinion, I may have to give this one a watch!

Stranger Things 2

I’ll be honest, I couldn’t get into Stranger Things so I gave it a miss, but, watching this trailer, I feel I may have to go back and try to watch it again. I love 80’s nostalgia so I really feel like I’m missing out on this one. And don’t they look adorable in their Ghostbusters outfits?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2

I cannot tell you how excited I am for this movie! It looks so much fun and I love superhero movies that don’t take themselves too seriously. I got to say though, Baby Groot is killing me he is the cutest thing in the world!

A Cure For Wellness

Ok…what? I need to see this! Not only was the advert produced insanely well, it also gave away just enough to make you want to know more. And it worked! I will definitely have to check this out.

Baywatch

Ok, I need to get my girlfriends together and we need to see this movie. Not only is Zac Efron just everything it also looks incredibly funny. Definitely a great reboot.

What was your favourite film/TV trailer from the Super Bowl?

Until next time.
