Spiderman: Homecoming Trailer Review
Ok, first off, Aunt May is just too attractive. I cannot get on board with her.
Today dropped the second Spiderman: Homecoming trailer and I was quite excited to watch it. There’s this excitement with superhero films at the moment and I’m definitely on that bandwagon, especially to see how they improve a character that has been played loads of times even in my lifetime. So, so long Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, there’s a new kid on the block and he’s called Tom Holland. I kinda like him. From what we saw in Civil War he seems punchy and fun and clearly doesn’t take himself too seriously. He’s also incredibly baby faced and honestly seems the perfect fit for Peter Parker, Spiderman though? I’m still not sure.
So, the trailer, a lot of people said they felt like they had watched the whole movie condensed into two minutes and I can see that. The trailer seemed to give lots of snippets of important scenes without giving the whole thing away. We also met the baddie of the movie, The Vulture who, of course, fits into the supervillian category well. A suit with more bionic parts then the Terminator? Check. It’s a bit repetitive but to be honest we’ll just have to wait for the big hole in the sky to really hit those superhero cliches!
The spidey-suit was interesting. I liked how it moulded to Peter’s body shape and wasn’t just fabric. I don’t think we’ve seen enough of it yet to make a really in-depth review but I definitely prefer this suit to ones we have seen before.
What I noticed with these trailer compared to the older Spiderman trailers was there was a lot of action and it felt new and exciting. Maybe because there were a lot of explosions. But it felt quick, the old Spiderman movies, really, were a bit slow and in the case of Spiderman 3 just way too weird to even be a serious movie. Who’s excited for the Venom movie on that note? I can’t wait for that! Anyway, this trailer had its funny moments and its light moments but had a sense of darkness and foreboding and I had a yearning to know more. Spiderman has never been my favourite superhero or superhero movie franchise but I’m excited for this one because, to be honest with you, I’ve found superhero movies kind of rubbish recently and I hope this one can make up for those. Especially with the inclusion of Iron Man, I bet he’s only in it for a quarter of the movie but still, that is a quarter I will enjoy.
What do you think of the Spiderman: Homecoming trailer?
Until next time.
