Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Review
Let’s begin the start of the 2017 superhero movies!
Guardians of the Galaxy was a good movie. I enjoyed it. It added some proper humour to a slightly too serious genre of movie. But when I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, I didn’t think they could make it much better, and I was sorely mistaken.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 obviously continues to follow the Guardians as they protect the universe but this time they also have to care for baby Groot who is literally the cutest thing ever! It’s quite a basic storyline where Rocket steals some batteries from a race of gold people who go after them to kill them and retrieve the batteries while alongside this Peter/Starlord also meets his father, Ego, and realises he has a lot more to offer the universe than what he originally thought.
Things take a dark turn however, because of course they do, and the Guardians end up battling an entire planet. You read that right. An entire planet! How crazy is that? They also have to make allies with some enemies that you would have never expected.
I honestly prefer this movie to the first one because it jumps you right into the action. You don’t have to establish the characters again and that can take up a lot of time so throwing the audience straight into it is a lot more fun. This also means the movie has more time to develop the plot and the characters we meet and this gives a richer film altogether.
The thing that amazed me about this movie was the CGI. It is crazy impressive and will blow you away with how good it looks. You can tell they went all out on this film and it really payed off. Every part of it is spot on and I can’t fault it as a movie. Marvel are really pulling ahead in the Marvel/DC race for me.
If you haven’t seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 yet I highly recommend it. It’s fun, funny and really heartfelt too. It’s perfect for all ages and they really showed off just how fun Marvel can be without becoming awkward.
What did you think of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2?
Until next time.
