Oh look, more white people messing up and being disrespectful in a foreign place…and we’re supposed to feel sorry for them?

The only good thing there seems to be about this movie is that it’s set in Japan and is very reminiscent of the Grudge and Ring – both very scary movies.

Temple is about a group of tourists who go to a mystical temple where a bunch of children went missing. These children seem to be ghosts now and are killing off the characters, but it seems the main character doesn’t die as he is seen in a bubble in what looks like a hospital almost in a very messed up state. But then, that could be part of the temple too and not a place to help him.

This is the horror cliches in their finest forms. Jump scares, creepy kids, white people being killed off, it’s all there. Get your bingo cards out because you’ll win the jackpot! This movie does look scary but it also looks very predictable. The only interesting bit really is the idea that the main character doesn’t die…so what does happen to him? There are shots that are found footage and shots that are not which is a bit disorientating and makes you wonder how the whole movie is filmed and it seems a bit low budget.

It’s very meh in my opinion and not something new. I have little interest in this movie because it does look too predictable and boring. The only scary parts are the jump scares and they’re only scary because you don’t expect them, there isn’t much thought put in.

Maybe this movie will surprise me and actually be good but I doubt it. It’ll be a good movie to watch around Halloween time for a quick scare but don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
