This movie looks like it’ll be a lot of fun. Very Four Lions-esque, and if you’ve seen that movie you know exactly what I’m talking about. And if you haven’t, watch it! It’s hilarious.

Stalin was obviously a Russian dictator who lived from 1878 to 1953. Give him a Google it’s quite interesting. And this movie does mirror a lot of what actually happened in Stalin’s death, it even said in the trailer ‘loosely based on a true story’ – this may be the only bit that was true. After Stalin dies a bunch of different men from all walks of life want to be ruler and it feels a lot like the Rat Race movie, but who will win? Who knows.

The list of men for the job include: The Deputy, The Politician, The Son, The Spymaster and The General. They all have their own quirks and characteristics which looks to be very fun to watch.

I think this’ll be a fun movie but I feel like you may need a bit of background to understand what’s really going on. Comparing it to Four Lions again that movie was a comedy about terrorists and they’re a very prominent thing right now so we could get the comedy but with Stalin, we learnt a bit about him in school but not enough. I worry if we don’t get it completely some of the jokes will go right over our heads.

This movie would be great for a day out with friends to laugh along with, it’ll probably also be quite controversial so I’m excited to see what other people think of this movie.
