The Addams Family Review

I think I can honestly say, the Addams Family is my favourite TV family. Especially in this movie. The casting, storyline, and jokes are all brilliant and I can’t recommend it enough.

The Addams Family follows, surprisingly, the Addams family and their Uncle Fester, Gomez’s brother, who has returned to them after going missing at the bermuda triangle. But has he really? Well, no, it’s actually their accountants who have dolled their son up to look like the uncle in a bid to steal all their money. How lovely.

But of course Gomez does not know this and welcomes Fester in with open arms. Throughout the movie you see their family dynamic, how they grow and treat each other, and how they just invite Fester in without a moment’s hesitation. It’s quite nice to see a good family dynamic on TV.

But what happens when the truth is revealed? Oh you’ll have to watch it and find out for yourself won’t you!

This movie is brilliant. It’s an easy watch with a lot of interesting and funny characters and the acting is great. Wednesday is my favourite character as she is so believable and very funny without trying too hard. Even in this day and age it’s still hard to find child actors that good.

The only bit that was a bit of a let down for me was the ending. I won’t give it away but it felt a little forced and seemed very quick to wrap things up. If they had tried a different route I think it would’ve been much better.

That aside however it still doesn’t take away from the fact that this movie is great and very funny. It’s different, which is good, and even though it’s nowhere near October now it’s the perfect movie to watch at Halloween if you don’t like gore or scary things.

What do you think of The Addams Family?

Until next time.
