Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed Review

I was terrified by this movie as a kid. The monsters all coming to life and the weird green smoke just horrified me. Watching as an adult, and yes there may be some nostalgia thrown in, but I adored this movie.

Scooby Doo 2 follows the gang again as they open up a new museum showcasing some of their enemies. The only problem is, someone is making the monsters come alive by using the empty suits and causing havoc in Coolsville. The gang need to find out who this is and how they can stop these monsters.

What I loved about this movie was the long storyline involving Shaggy and Scooby wanting to be better detectives. Not only did it bring a lot of laughs but with Shaggy being one of the strongest characters it kept the movie flowing and never felt boring. I was fully engaged whenever they were on screen and the only part I didn’t enjoy was Velma trying to be ‘hot’ – that was far too awkward!

But overall I do believe this movie really stands up and is still a very enjoyable watch and one both adults and kids can enjoy. It’s also one of those movies you can grow up watching and as you get older start to notice all the awkward adult jokes you missed the first time.

Honestly, this may be one movie franchise where I prefer the sequel over the original. What do you think?

Until next time.
