JD Wonderland Review
Short sweet and to the point, I definitely feel JD Sports know exactly who their target audience is.
This advert was only 30 seconds long but it knew what it was doing. It was very concise and used that 30 seconds very well. I feel the way this advert looked was very on brand with the company, it was very lavish but also quite sporty and also quite street. There was gold but it was almost like a rusty sort of gold that was lavish but still cool and the inclusion of Rita Ora who has been known to be more down with the kids and hip just added into the whole storyline that they were trying to show.
Now I want to reiterate I am 25 years old! I’m not a 60-year-old who uses words like ‘hip’ and ‘cool’, I know that I’m coming across like that but I am not JD Sports’ target audience. I am someone who lives in pretty skirts and girly clothes rather than trainers and tracksuits. I only really wear my trainers for walks and runs and exercise but this advert definitely peaked my interest. It was very clever, very on brand and just knew what it was doing so I imagine if this advert hit its target audience they would do very well in their sales.
It is a short advert but please watch it here and let me know what you think. It’s not one of the best but it is very clever and the use of a hashtag too shows that they are trying to push their brand out further and reach more people. It’s just all very clever and they clearly know what they’re doing.
Until next time.
