Desperate Housewives Season Two Review
I feel in the age where hardly any season is currently no longer than say 12 episodes, to watch a show for 22 episodes you really see how crazy storylines can get and this season was insane.
Desperate Housewives season two never seemed to end, and as it kept going the more convoluted the storyline became. From Bree and her children causing issues at home as well as a new love interest committing suicide to control her, to Gabriella and her want for children after not wanting one for so long, to even Susan and her constant battle with wanting to do what’s right and having what’s right burn her house down – it just kept going and going until you remembered why you started watching the show in the first place and thought: wait, where has that storyline gone?
I feel when I started watching Desperate Housewives the storylines were outlandish of course but they were still believable, however as the season has gone on everything has just become so much bigger, and you have to wonder how they can bring it all back together and make sense once more, or how they can keep making it crazier. I don’t know where the show is going, I compared it to Pretty Little Liars in my first review because it does feel like an adult version of that show, however this one got convoluted way before that one did and I don’t know whether I can really continue watching it or not.
Part of the fun of watching these sort of shows is the mystery and the suspense as everything gets unravelled, and I feel because everything has hit such a higher level in this season, I don’t know where it can go from here. I really struggled with the 22 episode season as well, at the time they were the norm, but now they don’t have my attention as much because there’s just so much to keep up with.
In some ways I’m intrigued to see what season three does and how they’re even able to keep it up for another five seasons after that, but at the same time do I really want to put this much effort into watching just one show for this amount of episodes? It can really take a toll after a while and just get a bit heavy and a bit too ridiculous.
What do you think of Desperate Housewives?
Until next time.
