Top 10 TV Shows of 2017

This was a great year for 2017! Whittling down to just 10 was pretty hard but here are my top 10 TV shows! I’d love to know yours too!

Great British Bake Off

GBBO returned this year but with a twist, new faces and a new platform, Channel 4 to be exact! I felt this was a refreshing change and felt like it brought the show into the 21st century. No more Victoria Sponges, now just exciting illusion cakes and show-stopping towers! I’m excited to see what this show brings us this year.

AHS Cult

I love American Horror Story and thought that 2017’s season Cult has been one of its best. The story was fantastic, the acting was phenomenal and to be honest I just love looking into cults. I definitely recommend this show but be prepared for a lot of gore, even some of the scenes were too much for me!

Stranger Things 2

I feel like a proud mum watching these children. They are so wonderful and have such bright acting careers ahead of them. Stranger Things 2 was just as good as the first and is definitely a show you need to binge watch. The story is fantastic and being set in the 80s gives it an interesting dynamic. Definitely one of my favourites.

Rick and Morty season 3

I started watching Rick and Morty in 2017 and have enjoyed every moment. They’re incredibly funny and always bring something new to the table. Season three was a bit different and definitely added something new to the show and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

Liar

Liar was a great series on ITV that even tricked me! It really blurs the lines between truth and lies and makes you question what you really believe and why you believe it. I loved it and was hooked from the get go. Just be careful with the ending, it’s pretty anti-climactic.

Riverdale

This show is great if you enjoy mysteries. It also stars Cole Sprouse and he has got pretty dishy recently. If you enjoyed Pretty Little Liars you’ll enjoy this one. Even if the second series has gone a bit off the rails!

Lego Masters

If you enjoy GBBO you’ll enjoy this! A different take on the old competition shows this uses Lego and people of all ages fighting to create the most amazing Lego statues. I just enjoy it seeing the different things people can come up with. A person’s imagination is amazing!

Old People’s Home for Four Year Olds

This is incredibly heartwarming. A definite to watch on those cold wintery nights and it will definitely leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling. It also gives you a lot of hope for the generations around us and what sort of people these kids could one day become.

Ultimate Beastmaster

This is great for some workout motivation. But it also has a lovely commentary underneath about coming together and unity between different people. The second season has just landed on Netflix and it’s almost better than the first! I definitely recommend watching both.

Thirteen Reasons Why

This caused a lot of controversy when it first erupted onto our screens but I enjoyed it none the less. It certainly has a lot of great ideas to tell the younger generation and also reminds us to be nice to each other and help everyone when we can. It is quite hard hitting though so get the tissues ready.

What was your favourite TV show from 2017?

Until next time.
